In response to the communication from the Government of Uganda and the Uganda Episcopal Conference regarding the postponement of the National Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations at Namugongo, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Jinja, His Grace Emmanuel Obbo has given guidelines on how to celebrate the Uganda martyrs on 3rd June 2026. “All parishes are advised to celebrate Uganda Martyrs Day 2026 at the parish level preferably on 3rd June 2026…Precautionary measures must be observed in line with the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to safeguard the faithful from the risk of Ebola infection…” He writes in his letter dated 21st May 2026.
