The Diocese of Jinja was chosen in the whole of the Archdiocese of Tororo to host the National Caritas week in 2026, this selection occurred during the 15th Caritas Week that was hosted by Kabale Diocese at Rushoroza Pastoral Centre from 8th to 15th of April 2025, this event was attended by delegates from the 19 dioceses of Uganda together with Bishop Serverus Jjumba, the President of Caritas Uganda and the hosting Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Callistus Rubaramira. In 2026 from 24th-29th in the month of March the Diocese of Jinja is to host the National Caritas week focusing on the theme: “BE TRANSFORMED BY RENEWING YOUR MIND” (Romans 12:2).
